Why subscribe?

I’m Simon Hughes, known as the Analyst, former professional cricketer and writer and commentator on cricket for 25 years. I aim to provide new angles and insights on the game and it’s players, to examine the organisation of cricket, holding its governing bodies to account and campaigning for change where necessary. I will also add historical perspectives to the general goings on. These pieces are often in harness with my Analyst Inside Cricket podcast. I aim to inform, provoke and entert in equal measure.

The former Essex and England all-rounder Derek Pringle, who was also cricket correspondent of the Daily Telegraph amongst other titles, has joined me on here to offer unique observations on and memories of the game, accompanied by brilliant photos from his amazing private collection.
