Pring recalls a whippet-thin Essex and England team-mate who packed a punch with ball and tongue - a combination the current England seamers could emulate
recall watched Foster take a 11er at Madras ( now chennai ) in Jan 1985 when England under Gower Sunk India with Fowler and Gatting got double hundreds ,tamed Sivaramakrishnan,England's bogey man till then.
Neil Foster ran in all day under sweltering hot conditions ,ripped the heart out of India then ala Andy Roberts in 1975
.Eng won the series ...Azhar got another ton..his second on the trot in a compilation of three in a row..
Foster was my first favourite cricketer, probably because he was one of the first I remember making his debut for England, alongside Nick Cook, as I got into the game through the summer of ‘83. Badly done to by selectors and his own body, but probably just what England needed in the early 90s, when he was serving his ban. Great memories!!
Brilliant read this ..🎯🏏

Remember him well. Great bowler. Completely Under-rated.
